This month’s runner of the month is Bob Myers.
1. What inspires you to run?
Registering for a race gives me a goal and motivates me to run.
2. When did you start running?
I started running when I was 46 years old when one of my co-workers challenged me to run a half marathon with him. I trained for five months and got a stress fracture two weeks before the half marathon and ran a 5K instead, but I was hooked on running!
3. Favorite post-race meal?
Mexican food

5. Best advice to new runner.
Sign up for a short-distance race and train to finish even if it includes walking (and do not worry about your time). Start off slow and easy to avoid being injured and increase your speed gradually. It is better to be able to run a race healthy than to not be able to race because you are injured. You are never too old to start running.

I recently started a new sport…..bowling.
